They say that it is often better to give than to receive! We at Major believe that to be the case and nowhere was that more apparent than on December 23rd at Mitchell’s Mobile Home Courts in Lakewood, CO.
Our very own “Make It Major” committee put together a toy drive for kids living in Mitchell’s Mobile Home Court. We even leverage some connections we have at the North Pole to arrange for Santa and Mrs. Claus to deliver age appropriate gifts to them. Mr. and Mrs. Claus even arrived in our own “Major Mobile” and were greeted by 70 kids and their families who were lining the street in anticipation.
“We care about people and their families,” said Jack Major, Jr., President of Major, “and we enjoy making a difference. Brightening Christmas for some less fortunate kids provides a little improvement to their quality of life. We’re glad to have the opportunity to do so.” Major noted his excitement that Santa had not only been able to make time to visit but also cross-referenced each child’s name, successfully confirming each of them are on the “nice” list.
The “Make It Major” committee and other Major team members volunteered their time to purchase and wrap all the gifts. “It’s really a testament to values of our team; I find it very heartwarming to work with such caring individuals,” said Joel Poppert Director of Business Development for Major.
The gifts, obviously, were great. But, we all think that everyone on our team felt more happiness and joy from simply seeing all the kids faces light up with Santa arrived delivering their gifts. It is those things that make a community – a community which we are grateful to be a part of.
